Finniss River Lodge
Three years in the making, the Northern Territory’s Finniss River Lodge officially welcomed its first guests last month. Located on a working cattle station 90 minutes by car from Darwin, this luxurious, six-suite accommodation offers outback adventures, a signature Cows & Canapes sunset dining experience and a wet-edge swimming pool with views as far as the eye can see. NEW OUTBACK HIKING EXPERIENCE COMING TO WATARRKA NATIONAL PARK |
Australian Walking Company (AWC) will be coordinating the design and operation of a multiday walking adventure in Watarrka National Park. According to Nicole Manison, Deputy Chief Minister, “Watarrka is a culturally significant ancient wonderland.” While the government and AWC are determined to build a unique experience for visitors, their top priority is collaborating with the Traditional Owners of the land and ensuring the project benefits them with job opportunities. Western Arrente-Luritja Traditional Owner Hubert Pareroultja highlighted that “the project is a good thing to do for the young people, to give them work.” |

KATHERINE’S MIMI ABORIGINAL ART & CRAFT BRAND-NEW CENTER NOW OPEN FOR VISITORS |
Mimi Aboriginal Art & Craft’s newly built center opened this spring at its previous address of 6 Pearce Street. The center’s gallery features works from throughout the Big Rivers region, and the center’s studio space lets Aboriginal artists produce, showcase and sell their work. Moreover, the center’s outdoor spaces and enhanced facilities make for a more meaningful visitor experience. Mimi Aboriginal Art & Craft is featured in the Territory Arts Trails, a curated collection that helps travelers know where to find Aboriginal art all throughout the Territory. |

MAGUK GORGE REOPENS AS NT’S TOP END ENTERS DRY SEASON |
Maguk Gorge, a waterfall-fed emerald plunge pool, is found in the southern region of Kakadu National Park. Impressively, it is one of the only waterfalls in the region that flows while there is no rain. This gem reopened in early June as the NT’s Top End makes its way into the dry season. |
