Introducing Allianz Partners Covered Reasons for Epidemics
To support travelers and partners over the last several months, Allianz has made some temporary claim accommodations for customers who’ve come down with COVID-19 before and during trips. Meanwhile, the pandemic has stayed at the forefront of travelers’ minds.
Because you, our clients are now looking for coverages specifically related to today’s travel environment, Allianz has been working to meet these evolving needs by building new epidemic-related covered reasons into some of our most popular travel insurance plans.
Where available, these new covered reasons include:
For Trip Cancellation Benefits
- Epidemic-related illness (including of the insured, their traveling companion, or their family member)
- Individually-ordered quarantine* of the insured or their traveling companion
For Trip Interruption Benefits
- Epidemic-related illness (including of the insured, their traveling companion, or their family member)
- Individually-ordered quarantine* of the insured or their traveling companion
For Travel Delay Benefits
The new covered reasons apply to several customized plans, as well as:
- Basic Plan (includes all new covered reasons except Denied Boarding)
- Classic Plan, with and without the Required to Work enhancement
- Classic Plan with Cancel Anytime
- Premier Plan
- Group Advantage Plan
*Benefits for quarantine due to an epidemic only apply when an eligible traveler is specifically named and individually-ordered to quarantine (not including generally or broadly applicable quarantines). Benefits may not cover the full cost of your quarantine and are subject to applicable benefit limits. See plan documents for details.
